About me
Hi! I’m Heather. I’m an Australian Voice Artist born, raised, and currently living in Tasmania with my pet birds and a shamefully large TBR book pile.
I love stories and spent my youth as a bookworm (this was before the digital age really took off). Later, when I had more access to screens, I became enamoured by animation for both its visual and audio artistry.
As free time became scarce I discovered audio drama podcasts and subsequently, re entered the world of audiobooks (something I hadn't much touched on since accidentally destroying an audiobook cassette I'd borrowed from the library many years earlier [I still feel bad about that!]) At this point I was thoroughly invested in an animal science based education and career.
I began dabbling in voice work mid 2023 by volunteering as a story narrator for Print Radio Tasmania, a non-profit radio station that creates content for the print handicapped. This lead to doing voice work as a side hustle, eventually sparking a full career pivot when I realised how much I enjoyed this creative work compared to my high stress job.
My journey so far has lead me to record for various voice acting verticals including audiobooks, podcasts, elearning, corporate, commercial, message on hold, and Youtube voiceovers.
When I’m not working (or cleaning up after my pets), I’m cycling through an endless rotation of creative hobbies including reading, piano, drawing, woodworking, sewing, and more.
